Youth and Young People

Young people matter to God and therefore to us at Eyam Church.  So we have groups on Sundays and during the week where young people can meet each other and together meet with God.

(Impacting young lives and impacting our community)
Impact is for school years 6-9 and meets in the Church Centre every Monday during term time from 6.00 - 7.45 pm.  We love games in Impact and start with a variety of energetic, interactive games, and enjoy being out on the field on sunny days!  Each evening we have a challenge or game to help us explore who Jesus is, and how the Christian faith is relevant to our lives.  And what’s more, we always have some tasty snacks!  We also have regular outings such as bowling or laserquest.

GIG stands for God Is Good and is for young people in school years 10+.  GIG meets at Eyam Church Centre every other Monday from 7.30 - 9.30 pm. It's a social time to chill out with activities including games, walks, table tennis, board games….  We enjoy spending time together and encouraging one another for the week ahead.

Enjoyed GIG?  Join us on the alternate Monday for our ‘Engage’ night.  This evening starts with a discussion looking at issues that are relevant to our lives and exploring the Bible in a deeper way together.  After our discussion we take time to play table tennis, and other games, and of course eat some pizza and snacks!  This also runs from 7.30pm-9.30pm.
All these groups meet during term time.  Please contact the church centre to find out more on 01433 630930.

KicKstart is Eyam Church’s midweek children’s club for children of primary school ages 5-11 (School years 1 to 6).

Meets in the Church Centre Wednesdays during the school term from 5.30 to 6.45 pm, with games, crafts, stories and lots of fun.

Registration forms can be obtained from the office in  the Church Centre.

CYFA is a group for 11 - 18 year olds, meeting in Eyam Church Centre during the 11.00 am service each Sunday most Sundays. It aims to introduce young people to a relationship with Jesus and then to help them mature as Christians. The sessions start off with a hot drink and biscuits, a fun activity to break the ice before getting into the theme of the day. We often split into 2 different age groups to tackle a variety of Bible passages and issues that help us explore what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. We also put our faith into action through events such as walking the Eyam half marathon with a toilet in tow to raise money for Tearfund, or serving the children at the holiday club. Sometimes CYFA takes part in the Sunday Service, through helping to lead worship as part of the music team, reading, operating the sound desk, participating in drama or leading prayers.

Transform Youth

Transform Youth is a partnership of Christians working together across the area to encourage young people in their faith. We aim to help young people to be transformed into disciples who are passionate for Jesus, and call others to join them. Transform youth organises the following things:

Deeper meets half termly on a Sunday evening 6pm-8pm. It is a time for young people from across the area to come together to worship and engage with a relevant Christian theme as well as enjoying friendship and snacks.

Events and Activities

We have regular events for young people to find out more about faith and make new friends. Recently we have had a street dance team join us for a week, culminating in a music and dance event. Other events have included an orienteering afternoon, a Winter Ball and a games night. Watch out for more information!

Transform Youth leadership team

This is a group of young people aged 14+ who represent different youth groups from across the area. They meet monthly to explore leadership by following the ‘Growing Leaders’ course as well as planning and praying for area wide activities. They also have the opportunity to go away to the Peak Centre for team building and training.
